The Grand Opening
On a perfect Midsummer’s Day we held the official Grand Opening of our brand-new community hall. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate such a momentous occasion. It was an emotional day for everyone involved.
Midsummer’s Day is seen as midway between planting and harvest. When the seeds were first sown regarding building a brand-new hall for the village little did we know the toil and trouble that awaited us. But now we can stand back and see that all our dedicated, hard work was worth it. It is profoundly satisfying to see our community hall finally ready for use.
Once again we extend our deepest gratitude to all the volunteers, local businesses, charities and organizations that have generously contributed their time, resources, and expertise to make this project a success. Without your unwavering support, this community hall would not have been possible. And a special thank you to the wonderful Pearl Wall who donated the land in memory of Doris Knowler. The land will be known as ‘Doris’ pitch’ in recognition of her love of the game of football. We hope we have done Doris proud.
Don’t forget you can become a member of Painters Forstal Community Association. It is free to join and you will get all the latest news about the hall. You can apply here.
